Who we are

Seven One Eight Systems LLC is an independent technology company based in Brooklyn, New York. We operate this website and the 718 Interchange workspace. You can reach us at hello@718systems.com.

Information you give us

We collect the following directly from you:

• Demo and contact requests. Name, work email, company, role, optional phone number, the products and use case you select, and anything you write in the message field.
• Account information. For customers: name, email, organization, and which products your subscription includes.
• Work you create in the product. Saved searches, follows, lists, notes on your own tracked matters, and your email digest preferences. This is yours; we use it to run the features it belongs to.
• Correspondence. Support email and anything you send us, including reports of a bad entity match.

Information collected automatically

When you use the workspace we record standard operational data: sign-in events, IP address, browser and device type, and the pages you request. This is used to keep the service running and secure, and to understand which features are used. We do not sell it and we do not use it to build an advertising profile of you.

This marketing site sets no advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. Fonts are bundled with the site rather than loaded from a third party, so browsing these pages makes no request to an outside service. The workspace uses cookies that are necessary to keep you signed in.

Public-record information about other people

718 Interchange organizes records that government agencies publish. Those records sometimes name individuals — a licensed architect on a filing, a party on a deed, a respondent on a violation. We publish those names as the agency published them, because they are part of the public record of a regulated activity.

• We do not add personal information that is not in the source record. We do not purchase consumer data, and we do not attempt to identify a person behind an entity that no public record names.
• We do not sell personal information, and we do not use these records for advertising or for any consumer-scoring purpose.
• The service is not a consumer reporting agency and its output is not a consumer report. It must not be used to make decisions about a person's eligibility for credit, insurance, employment, or housing. See our Acceptable Use Policy.
• When a source agency corrects or withdraws a record, that change is taken on the next read. We do not keep a private archive of records an agency has retracted.

How we use information

• To provide, secure and support the workspace and your account.
• To respond to a demo request, a question, or a reported problem.
• To send the email digests you have turned on, and service notices about your account.
• To understand which features are used, so we can decide what to build.
• To meet legal obligations and to enforce our Terms of Service.

We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.

Who we share it with

We use service providers to run the product — hosting, database, email delivery, and error monitoring. They process data on our instructions and only to provide their service to us. Beyond that we disclose information only when the law requires it, to protect our rights or someone's safety, or in connection with a merger or sale of the business, in which case this policy continues to apply to the information transferred.

Retention

Account information and the work you create are kept while your account is active. If your subscription to a product ends, the saved searches and follows belonging to it are hidden rather than deleted, and reappear if access is restored. If you close your account, we delete or anonymize your personal information within a reasonable period, except where we must keep records for legal, tax or security reasons. Operational logs are kept on a short rolling window.

Public records are retained for as long as the source publishes them.

Security

Access to the workspace requires an account, traffic is encrypted in transit, and product access is granted per user and per module. Administrative access to customer data is limited to the people who need it to operate the service. No system is perfectly secure, and we do not claim otherwise; if we become aware of a breach affecting your information we will notify you as the law requires.

Your choices

• Access, correction and deletion. Write to hello@718systems.com to see, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you. Depending on where you live you may have a statutory right to do so; we handle these requests the same way regardless.
• Email. Digest emails can be switched off per saved search inside the product, or entirely by asking us. Service messages about your account are not optional while you have one.
• Marketing. We contact people who ask us for a demo. If you would rather we did not, say so and we will stop.

Children

This is a business product. It is not directed to children and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

Changes

If this policy changes we will update the date at the top of this page, and we will tell customers directly about a change that materially affects them.
